Port Hacking waterway is a pristine waterway in southern Sydney bordered along  the southern side by Royal National Park. With beaches, bays, mangroves and secluded picnic spots the area is a paddler’s paradise!

We’ve put together a list of popular Port Hacking paddling destinations and approximate time taken for return trip. Note that weather conditions, in particular tide and wind will effect paddling time. These times are based on paddling in kayaks. Stand up paddle boarding would take longer.

·         Simpson’s Bay – lovely bay right next to our base. When there’s a big swell the wave break is perfect for paddle board surfing or kayak surfing

·         Cabbage Tree Basin – 2 hours return * only accessible when tide height over 1.5 metres and best accessed on run in tide  Check Tide Here

·         Darook Park – 1.5 hour return

·         Gunnamatta / Cronulla Ferry Wharf – 2 hour return

·         Burraneer Bay – 2 hours return

·         Fisherman’s Bay – 1.5 hour return

·         Deeban Sand-spit – 1 hour return

·         Dolans Bay – 2 hours return

·         Warrumbul – gorgeous river side beach and picnic area – 3 hours return

·         South West Arm end – totally surrounded by Royal National Park! Gorgeous deep waterhole and waterfall along the way – 4-5 hours return *best planned 2 hours before high tide Check Tide Here
